Describe the role of Lady Macbeth in ACT II. Do her actions reflect the roles of women in the 11th

ReplyDelete1. Lady Macbeth is a very unfriendly character. She's also very manipulative, which is not common in women of the 11th century.
2. Macbeth is a very loyal person, but also very anxious. His hallucinations, to me, represent a flawed character. These hallucinations that he keeps experiencing are a cause of his guilt, so I guess it applies for both.

1. Lady Macbeth is very calculated and unforgicing in act 2. She wants Macbeth to be quick with the murder but he can not deal with the emotions the taking a life leaves a person with.

1. Lady MacBeth seems to exercise some kind of power over Macbeth. This is the opposite of the normal gender roles in the 11th century.

Lady Macbeth acts nothing like how women were to act in that time. She exercises power and control.

1. Lady Macbeth is very strong and demanding in Act II and usually in that time period that is something all women were very afraid to do. She isn't very nice to her husband.
